WordPress is a CMS – content management system – which has been operating since 2003. It is focused on the creation of any type of web page. It first gained popularity in blog creation, but it has become one of the principle tools for creating commercial websites. Do you use this system for your company’s website or blog? We recommend using Easypromos tools to embed promotions on your site.
How to display a promotion on your WordPress blog or website using the Easypromos plugin
Any Premium, White Label or Corporate promotion with its own URL can be embedded into a webpage or blog using the Easypromos plugin. Social media giveaways are not compatible with the plugin because they take place directly on social media networks.
Displaying promotions on your website or blog enables you to convert some of your website visitors into identified users: leads that you can add to your database or mailing list, so that you can establish a relationship and direct communication with them. Displaying promotions also allows you to recommend products to visitors, guiding them through the buying process and offering incentives in order to convert them into paying customers.
To use the plugin, just follow these simple steps:
- First you must create and activate the promotion.
- Make sure you know the promotion version and ID. You’ll find this information on the Editor page of your Easypromos Dashboard.
3. The Easypromos plugin for WordPress is free. You’ll find it in the Plugins section on your Editor page. Type “Easypromos” into the search bar and then click on the “Install Now” button to start the process.
How to use Easypromos promotions plugin on your WordPress pages
Once you install the plugin, the configuration page will appear. From here you can create the embed code and adjust its characteristics. The short code generator enables you to create specific codes and save them in the historical list shown below. In addition, you can see the name of the WordPress user who has generated the code, along with the date of creation. Using this tool you can use HTML to embed the code in any entry, page, and in the sidebar.
You can also configure and insert the code of your promotion from the editor page of each entry or article. When you install the plugin you’ll see that a new icon appears in the editor toolbar. The plugin appears as a new type of block in the “Embedded” section of the WordPress Gutenberg editor. Click on the icon to create a new block or paragraph where you want to display the promotion.
Once you’ve created the block where you want to embed your contest, giveaway or promotion, you can configure and adapt it. Link the ID of the promotion you want to display, confirm the version and customize the width.
One of the most important features is the range of integration options. You can embed the promotion, as shown in the following example. You can modify the width of the promotion and use CSS code to finish adjusting it if you need to.
Another option is to present the promotion as a pop-up window. In this case, the Easypromos plugin enables you to indicate the number of times a promotion is presented to the same visitor (the default setting is once every 24 hours). We can also indicate the number of seconds it takes to display the promotion from the moment a visitor accesses the URL with the embedded promotion. These two features allow you to customize the user’s experience when you’re showing them a contest, giveaway or game, so that you can avoid being too intrusive.
When visits to your WordPress website or blog come from mobile devices, clicking on the promotion link will open the promotion on a new page. This default setting improves user experience, because if a user is using a small device, the promotion is best viewed on a full screen.
Can I use the Easypromos plugin with various promotions at the same time?
You can add the Easypromos block wherever you like, meaning that you can display several promotions at the same time. For example, you could display a Product Recommender app on your home page, and a Spin the Wheel game on the URL of a product that’s popular and receives lots of visits.
Are there other ways of embedding promotions on WordPress?
Yes. If you don’t want to install the WordPress plugin, you can present the promotion using Easypromos widgets. These will provide you with the code you need to embed the promotion in an HTML block. Use widgets when you only want to embed a promotion on your WordPress blog or site once in a while.
Promotions with their own URL are microsites that can be linked to from a website or blog. This option provides you with a range of other methods for displaying the promotion, such as linking to it from a banner in your WordPress site, or using your own domain function to embed and display the promotion on your site.
